INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
- Together! provides a fully equipped, accessible Project and Training Center in Addis Ababa in which capacity building is provided in form of TVET-accredited Basic Computer Skill Training in adaptive computer applications,
- This course offers a comprehensive combination of theoretical knowledge and practical skills, enabling students to develop a strong foundation in the field of IT.
- Braille literacy and Low Vision, health and independent living skills, English language and Entrepreneurship for visually impaired young adults.
- Besides training, assistant tangible and audible study materials are being produced.

- The rationale behind IT training is most blind students were not getting access to Information Technology, due to limited access & facilities for the students (particularly at the primary & secondary levels) it is difficult to get access to computer training.
- The implementation of this program has graduated 34 people with visual impairment and they were assigned to various schools, colleges, blind-focused organizations, and government offices to teach other people with similar disabilities and helped the empowerment of 643 visually impaired students (266 male and 377 female).
- 100 persons (50 male, 50 female ) benefited and accessed information for their education, references, and entertainment purpose. Moreover, 10 other visually impaired beneficiaries who received IT educational support taught others with similar disabilities and gained income.
- In addition, Together! is working with the Addis Ababa education bureau and the Ethiopian National Association for the blind (ENAB) and has opened two resource centers at two different locations in Addis Ababa in collaboration with the fore mentioned offices.
On The Job Training
- upon the completion of the course, trainees will sit for CoC exams Level 1, which ensures that students have the necessary knowledge and skills to succeed in the IT industry. These exams are designed to test students’ understanding of IT concepts and technologies and validate their expertise in the field.
- the ones who passed the COC exam will be placed in the on-the-job training program, which provides students with the opportunity to apply their learning in real-world scenarios. This practical experience is invaluable for students, as it allows them to hone their skills and gain the confidence needed to succeed in their future careers.
